A short sale implicates possible credit and tax consequences for
the owner due to the deficiency balance after the short sale.
Lender would issue a copy of the 1099-C to use in filing income tax.
As such, an owner considering a short sale should be encouraged to
discuss these issues with an attorney, CPA accountant, or
other qualified tax appropriate professional.
